Book overview

An American mom in Paris learns that not all French kids (hers in particular) are well-behaved in this #1 Amazon Best Seller! Being a mom in America is hard enough... Try navigating Paris with a stroller in one hand and a croissant in the other! In this humorous memoir, Vicki shares the highs and lows of raising her family in the City of Light. A former party girl, Vicki has now traded wine bottles for baby bottles. If she's awake at 2 a.m. it's because of a crying baby, not a wild night out on the town. Follow her journey through pregnancy to raising two kids with her ever-patient French husband, all while trying to enjoy life in Paris. Fans of Pamela Druckerman's Bringing Up Bebe will be comforted to know that not all French kids are perfect angels, and readers of Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs will enjoy the humor in this parenting memoir. As a contributor to Jen Mann's best-selling I Just Want to Pee Alone series, Vicki Lesage is used to not holding anything back when talking about the down and dirty aspects of raising kids abroad. Interview with the Author What was your inspiration to write the Confessions series? After a few too many drinks, I either turn to storytelling or karaoke. I'm much better at storytelling-or so my friends say! They encouraged me to put my tales to paper, and thus was born my series of memoirs, essentially a collection of funny true stories. OK, so they're technically memoirs. But they seem different than traditional memoirs. How would you categorize them? Most bestselling memoirs are written by celebrities, who already have a huge audience. I had to choose a different angle in order to stand out, so I went for humor. I hope people enjoy my stories, which have been compared to chick lit except they're true! I also talk about my travels, so my books would appeal to anyone who likes travel humor. Confessions of a Paris Party Girl is a funny coming of age memoir, while Confessions of a Paris Potty Trainer falls under parenting humor or pregnancy humor. Yikes, those are practically spoilers! Sorry! Between my French last name and my author bio, I think the cat might already be out of the bag. However, even if you have a rough idea of how it all ends, you have no idea how rough it was getting there until you read my books! Aren't there already so many memoirs, and ones about Paris in particular? Why should I choose yours? It's true, there are some really great Paris memoirs. The fact that I have read (and enjoyed!) so many bestselling memoirs myself makes me think it's a popular genre for a reason. We're always thirsty for another sip of Paris, to travel to Paris through the pages of a book, to fall in love with Paris again! In what order should I read the books? Each book can stand alone, but like fine wine and cheese they go great together! I recommend this order:- Confessions of a Paris Party Girl: A Humorous Travel Memoir- Confessions of a Paris Potty Trainer: A Humorous Parenting Memoir- Christmas Confessions & Cocktails: A Humorous Holiday Memoir with Sassy Drink Recipes- Petite Confessions: A Humorous Memoirette with Sassy Drink Recipes- Confessions & Cocktails: A Humorous Memoirette with Sassy Drink RecipesIf you enjoy a good laugh and want to see the crazy things that happened to this American girl in Paris, you'll enjoy the Confessions series!
